10 of our Biggest Mistakes and Lessons

If we were to do it all over again, what would we do differently?

Before our mountain adventure, we both lived quite a luxurious city life. We took for granted basic needs like a hot shower, central heating and a working toilet. If the heating or some other service didn’t work, we just called someone to fix it for us.

On the mountain, we led a “do-it-all-yourself” life. In principle, we were responsible for all the utilities and their functioning. If anything didn’t work on the mountain, we would always try to fix it ourselves first before calling someone. One reason is of course financial, the other reason was our wish to be as self-reliant as possible.

We certainly learned our lessons due to this approach. The hard way. But “failure” always meant growth. You can benefit in multiple ways from our shared mistakes and lessons.
